Hey Cookie

Having lived down the way from London's Hummingbird Bakery, I've had the pleasure of tasting their deliciousness and devilish treats. Their cupcakes, biscuits and pies should contain a warning- the more you eat, the more you want and you will become a heifer.

To my moreish delight, The Observer Food Monthly published a selection of recipes from the bakeries newly released cookbook. I've tried two- the double chocolate chip cookies and the frosted brownies. I have to say, the brownies were the best I've ever tasted, without a doubt. The delicious chocolate cream cheese frosting was quite literally, the icing on the cake. Why I haven't made them again, well re-read the above warning.

The cookies perhaps need another go. As nice as they are, they haven't blown my taste senses though I will definitely try to play with the recipe a bit more.

I also made bread today, a wholemeal loaf. It seemed to have a little problem rising, though I'm putting this down to a large bread tin and the fact that I forgot to put in the yeast until after I started to mix the dough. Still as breads go, delicious and cheap. I used Delia's site to guide me; check it out here.
